BIOGRAPHY

Gabriella Parisi is an independent and eclectic artist working across various fields of contemporary visual arts: painting, sculpture, photography, cinema, 3D and digital art. Her deep passion for research, art, technology and internationalization, has led her to engage with increasingly challenging and complex environments, such as the dynamic and inspiring cultural melting pot of New York City and the ever-evolving field of Information Technology.

She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome with top honors, completing an experimental thesis in interactive art on the famous Italian artistic group Studio Azzurro, led by Paolo Rosa. The art of Studio Azzurro is permanently exhibited at the Vatican Museums with the Studio Azzurro Room, close to the great works of Michelangelo. The artist is infinitely grateful to have personally met Paolo Rosa during his lifetime because he was a truly visionary artist, ahead of his time, with a deep cultural knowledge and a profound love for art. He was able to share his vast artistic experience with great humility and passion, inspiring everyone around him.

Gabriella Parisi also expanded her knowledge in Multimedia Art at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City under the mentorship of American multimedia artist Randall Packer.

In 2011, Gabriella contributed to the development of Italian Game Art with her work Over Game, which was featured in the exhibition Neoludica. Art is a game 2011-1966 at the 54th International Art Exhibition, La Biennale di Venezia. She has participated in over 50 international exhibitions and projects supported by private galleries, public institutions, and museums such as the Venice Biennale, Triennale di Milano, the Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci in Milan, Lucca Center of Contemporary Art, PONG at the University of Milan, the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, the Museum of Almería, and the University of Granada.

In December 2024, the artist exhibited five of her digital and 3D works dedicated to New York City in a group art show organized by a contemporary art gallery in Tribeca, in the heart of Manhattan. Her work sparked strong interest from the audience, who recognized the originality, authenticity, and expressive power of her art.

In June 2025, a piece by Gabriella Parisi will be showcased in Times Square, New York City.

Some of Gabriella Parisi's works are part of private collections and a bank’s art collection.

Gabriella is an artist who loves experimenting with different artistic techniques. Her creative process is akin to that of an alchemist, blending various materials and colors to create a unique mix of shapes and textures that emerge like molten magma—drawing new boundaries and igniting deep emotions.

Elements derived from alabaster and marble, for instance, are combined in her works with the ancient encaustic painting technique, enhancing the expressive power of light and color to capture the infinite poetic possibilities of matter.

When it comes to her digital and video art, Gabriella Parisi draws from her solid background as a director, filmmaker, and special effects artist. This expertise allows her to craft original works that transcend form, emphasizing the power of color as it generates shapes and emotions. Her creations immerse the viewer in a hypnotic and mesmerizing experience, much like a virtual journey through VR.

In the artist's digital and 3D creations, there is a strong emphasis on figurative art and classicism, with subjects that act as gateways to a virtual and technological world that, far from being reassuring, looms as a threat to shake consciences. Gabriella Parisi adopts vivid, saturated, and hypnotic colors, in an Andy Warhol-like style, which enhance the forms, almost abstracting them, to create a virtual double that no longer recognizes itself in contemporary self-referentiality and seeks an outlet in reality—either to escape or simply to dream.

Her sculptural works, on the other hand, are inspired by abstractionism and minimalism, with references to Gabo’s sculptural art, through a technical virtuosity rooted in the theories of quantum physics, the abstract imagery of 3D design, and the wireframe network.

Her art is a work in progress that aims to capture the impermanence of both the physical and virtual worlds, where certainty and personal stability fade at the edges of new symbols, uncertainties, and paradigms shaped by technological challenges.
